About Flock

The Beginning

The flock was started in the autumn of 2007 during the chaos of the Foot and Mouth outbreak. I was fortunate to purchase four in-lamb ewes privately from the Edstaston Flock of Robert and Jeanette Gregory in Shrewsbury. Later that year I travelled to the delayed Exeter Production sale and added a further three lots from the Trevadlock FlockĀ in Cornwall. These seven ewes gave us a great start, some of them and many of their offspring remain in the flock today.

My first group of ewes purchsed privately from the Edstaston Flock

Each year since beginning the flock I have added females from some of the UK's top flocks. This continues to the present day, they have come from flocks such as Edstaston, Southam, Wraycastle, Glyncoch, Elmwick, Parkgate and Logie Durno flock. I look forward to their positive influence on the Bronwydd flock.

I have also purchased rams at the Worcester Premier sale. They have come from Logie Durno, Edstaston and Arjane. One in particular Logie Durno J.R has proved to be an excellent breeder, he is a smart, stylish ram with great length. He has been used heavily and his genetics go through a large number of the flock. I'm sure his positive influence will be seen within the flock for some time.
